About Us

A Note From Our President & CEO

Courageous Care Family Care Foundation

"It’s amazing what we can do when we come together, touching lives and making a real and significant difference."

"Courageous Care Family Foundation, Inc. was created "for help, hope, and healing.” C.C.F.F. is like no other current or potential nonprofit in America. There is no other type of organization in our country that cares for and focuses solely on adults diagnosed with terminal cancer and other life-threatening diseases* and their caregivers in this capacity. So welcome to our home. We count it an honor and a privilege to have you as our guests. We hope you enjoy your visit with our family and make plenty of lasting memories with yours while you're here."

Shereice Godby

Courageous Care Family Foundation, Inc.

Our Vision And Goals

We began C.C.F.F. as a dream in the spring of 2010. The journey to become an approved nonprofit has been a long one over the past few years.

Our vision and goals will be to cater to ambulatory adults and their immediate families or caregiver(s)* from all over the United States facing a terminal diagnosis of various forms of cancers. As a faith-based, Christian organization, we will work with multiple referral sources on an ongoing basis. Helping to bring families together for a once-in-a lifetime experience. Including word of mouth referrals, churches, hospitals, several cancer specialty hospitals, doctor's offices, and other accredited facilities as well to bring "help, hope, and healing" to families.

“Rehoboth Springs Ranch, A Place for Special Memories."

Our goal at C.C.F.F., in conjunction with the Godby family, will be to offer these medically qualified*, ambulatory, adult patients and their immediate families or their caregiver(s), a 6-day, 5-night*, expense-paid* vacation.

We will be raising the funds to acquire,  purchase the property we have found in the mountains of Southern Colorado and help pay for scholarships to bring these medically qualified families to. Once all of the legalities are finalized and closed, architectural design for the facilities can start.

The plan is to begin construction in early 2022. The remainder of 2021 and throughout 2022 will be a period of fundraising, design and construction. Our scheduled opening date is fall-to-winter 2022 or early spring 2023. Scheduled completion for the whole project is by fall of 2023 or before.*

We will be naming the facility “Rehoboth Springs Ranch, "A Place for Special Memories."

“Little Sugars Day Camp.”

Children are an intricate part of many adults’ journeys. So for us, we want to ensure that our “special little guests” are also well cared for. So we are proud to introduce “Little Sugars Day Camp.”

“Little Sugars Day Camp” is not a daycare where Mom and Dad or Grandma and Grandpa can just “drop the kids off at” so they can “get rid of them” for a few hours so they can go “play.”

Our vision and goal here is to provide an amazing experience for our little guests, ages 4–17. We will be offering a state-of-the-art facility in order for our young guests to have a safe and fun environment in which to experience Rehoboth Springs Ranch. Kids need quality, positive attention, and this is just the place for them to receive it.

Safe Indoor And Outdoor Activities

We will afford them age- appropriate, well-planned, supervised, and safe indoor and outdoor activities in conjunction with classes and equipment in a structured, fun environment on which to experience each day they are in attendance. It is of the utmost importance and imperative to the Godby family and C.C.F.F the kids not be “left out” or feel neglected in any way while visiting our home, Rehoboth Springs Ranch.

We would like to ensure that your children feel safe, loved, and cared about by our staff while they are our guests here on the Ranch. Our entire staff will undergo appropriate and thorough background checks in order to assure the proper quality, safety, and security of all of our guests. We want all of our guests, especiallythe kids to look so forward to coming to “Little Sugars Day Camp” and be overjoyed with the possibility of coming to visit us each day that they can hardly finish their breakfast each morning! We will strive to have their level of anticipation be so high that they can’t wait to come “play” and spend the days with us and will look so forward to each of the fun-filled activities that they won’t want to leave the Ranch!  We would like to ensure that your children feel safe, loved, and cared about by our staff while they are our guests here on the Ranch. We want the kids to look so forward to coming to “Little Sugars Day Camp” and to always remember their experience after they leave. Our goal is to have made a positive and lasting impression on each child's life.

The Mother Standard of Care

We would like to ensure that your children feel safe, loved, and cared about by our staff while they are our guests here on the Ranch. We want the kids to look so forward to coming to “Little Sugars Day Camp” and to always remember their experience after they leave. Our goal is to have made a positive and lasting impression on each child's life.

Make These Dreams A Reality

Courageous Care Family Foundation, Inc. and the Godby family are totally committed to raising the funds to make these dreams a reality for hundreds of families to enjoy. A once-in-a-lifetime vacation, to create those special memories, to be cherished and remembered for many years to come. This will be a special home, and we want each person who is presented with the opportunity to visit Rehoboth Springs Ranch to enjoy being our guest and to enjoy the experience as much or more than any other vacation they have ever had in their lifetime. Throughout C.C.F.F. and R.S.R., it is absolutely imperative that every Board Member, Staff member, employee or volunteer have a heart to serve these precious families with "the Mother Standard" level of care. We want our guests to be treated like we as an organization treat our Mothers and how we would want them to be treated with kindess, gentleness, respect, mercy and grace. We are a faith-based, Christian organization and we are called to be a blessing to others, and to treat others, just as Jesus treated everyone He came in contact with.

As part of the original founders of Courageous Care Family Foundation, Inc., Billy and Shereice Godby had a dream laid on their hearts to help families facing cancer and to make a real and significant difference in those lives. During their own personal journey with cancer, they have had no one to help them with outside of family support of any kind. They do not ever want any other family to go through what they have.

This truly is a "mega vision" since one out of every two people will be touched by a form of cancer in their life. That stark reality of the dark world of cancer is also one of the reasons it is so critically important to them that families will not have to fight this horrible battle alone, suffering in silence. We are here to walk with you and be there for you and your family on your journey with love and support while you are our guests and after.

C.C.F.F., R.S.R., Board members, staff and employees are also very committed to this vision and will do all we can to ensure you and your family have a wonderful, restful and enjoyable time to make some lasting memories while you are here. Thank you for being our guests. We hope you enjoy your visit with us.

Reach Out To Families

The Godbys know far too well the challenges and struggles that dreaded diseases can bring, as several of their family members have been touched by varying forms of cancer, Parkinson's disease, diabetes, and heart disease. This, coupled with Billy's terminal diagnosis and the loss of very close and special family members and friends, is the "why" for them, as the founders of C.C.F.F. and Rehoboth Springs Ranch, to reach out to families that are searching for hope, help, and healing.

When they began their journey after Billy was diagnosed over 14 years ago, there was little to no help for the caregivers and family members of cancer and terminally diagnosed patients of this magnitude. So Shereice, as Billy’s primary caregiver, began two support groups and meeting other diagnosed patients and caregivers. She then quickly learned the challenges and struggles others face like she has, and believes strongly in the phrase “caregivers battle, suffering in silence.” It is sad but so true for so many caregivers and their children.

This is where their hearts lie. They know all too well the challenges that a cancer diagnosis can and does bring to the families. This is why, for a few days, they want each medically qualified family to be able to get away for a few days of relaxation and rest from all of the stress and just forcus on enjoying themselves.

We are called to be a blessing while we are here on the earth. That is what God expects from each of us. Our goal is to bring two hundred families a week, for thirty-five weeks out of the year to our resorts. That is over seven thousand families we can reach out to and try to make a lasting and real difference in their lives every year.

The Mother Standard of Caring

At Courageous Care Family Foundation, Inc. and Rehoboth Springs Ranch Resorts, it is our goal and desire to serve families of adults that have been diagnosed with a terminal form of cancer that visits our facilities. Throughout our organization and at each of our facilities, we adhere to a high standard of care. We refer to it as "the Mother Standard of Care". How we would want our moms to be treated by anyone is how we choose to treat each of our guests as well as each other. This is very important to us. We strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus and this is why we honor this standard at our facilities and throughout our ministry.

Courageous Care Family Foundation, Inc. for "Help, Hope & Healing"

Heal Mentally And Emotionally

They have met so many hurting, brokenhearted, stressed, lonely, sad, angry, scared, struggling, confused, and weary family members that just need a little "help, hope, and healing" to continue to make it through each day on the journey they are on. This is truly where the Godbys' heart is.

Helping the caregivers and the immediate family is critical to assist in caring for a diagnosed patient. If the caregiver and family are in a good place to have an opportunity to heal their broken hearts, heal mentally and emotionally, our hope and goal is that by visiting Rehoboth Springs Ranch through Courageous Care Family Foundation, Inc., the family has a better chance to fight the battle they are facing on their journey and winning.

Making a REAL Difference

Once the patients and families are our guests on the Ranch, they are then a part of our C.C.F.F. family*, and we will have a monthly or quarterly contact with each family through various media outlets and support groups. We will strive to ensure and work to make them feel loved, concerned about, and cared for by each member of our staff, to the best of our ability.

If you or your family has ever been touched by a terminal diagnosis of cancer or other terrible disease, then surely you understand what it is like to hurt so bad, and what it is like to feel all alone on the journey. Our vision is to ensure that the guests that come to our Rehoboth Spring Ranch never have to walk the road on their journey alone again.

Make Them Feel Loved

In the Bible Jesus commands us "to love one another as He loves us". That is exactly what we want each guest to experience from the moment they contact us to the moment we leave them at the airport for their departure flight home. We require that "the Mother standard of care" be exhibited throughout our organization. This means that how we as indivuals would treat our Mothers is how we will treat our guests. With the utmost love, compassion and respect. We aren't perfect people, but we will do our best to portray the love, compassion, mercy and grace of Jesus Christ to each person we come in contact with.
